Nintendo officials have been informed of the existence of real money trading in the market, for example, some players in Animal Crossing: New Horizons conducted transactions similar to "reselling villagers". This is a serious breach of the company's terms of service, as Nintendo replied.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is officially launched on March 20, 2020. The running time of the game is exactly the same as the reality, but some players take opportunistic methods to obtain the game resources they want, such as adjusting the system time to achieve "time crossing", using cracking and other ways to move the small animals they want to the island, thus spawning the real money trading market out of the game.

Note: using real money or electronic money to do buying or selling in the game is usually called "Real Money Transaction" (hereinafter referred to as RMT).

In the game, there is a ticket called “nook ticket”, which players can exchange with mileage points. Some players let a certain number of "nook miles ticket" act as equivalents, opening the RMT mode. On the Internet, RMTs such as “reselling villagers” and “DIY resources” for playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons are emerging in an endless stream. Businesses often considerately mark out "package collection" and the price of these "package" contents.

Currently, Nintendo has given a response: "Users are not allowed to make RMTs (whether real money or other virtual currencies) through Nintendo Network and Nintendo Network Contents. We have noticed such acts, which are in violation of our terms of service. "

At the same time, Nintendo officials have said they will investigate the RMTs in Animal Crossing and take measures to limit this behavior in the future. It's not clear yet what Nintendo officials will do in the future to crack down on RMTs in the game.
