Evernote has launched a variety of smart hardware, including the early launch of the "Jot Script", as well as the follow-up second-generation product EverPen and a little earlier launched EverScan.

As a must-have for today's officer, employees, the mouse is with almost everyone, and there are many office workers/employees who use Evernote as a must-have. As a heavy user of Evernote, I can't help but wonder why Impressions is launching a mouse. What kind of features will this mouse have?

After using it, I found that this smart mouse is perfect for Evernote and would make a great New Year's gift for an employee.

What kind of mouse is it?

EverMOUSE is currently only available for Evernote on the PC and will be available on the Mac in the near future, requires the latest version of the Evernote client to operate.

The box of EverMOUSE follows Evernote's usual design style of gray and dark green. Once opened, it includes an EverMOUSE and a Macro USB cable (with PDF instructions).

Appearance

The appearance is similar to a normal mouse, but on both sides of the left and right mouse buttons, EverMOUSE adds two function keys, the left one for voice/translation and the right one for function.

The top part of EverMOUSE is made of aerospace aluminum and the cap and other parts of the mouse are suspected to be made of ABS. The entire mouse is powered by a Micro USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery, making it relatively light.

The EverMOUSE is conspicuous by its low battery indicator on the front of the scroll wheel. A 450mAh lithium-ion battery is built in, with an official battery life of 30 days and a standard charge time of about 3 hours.

What are the core features of hard and soft together?

EverMOUSE requires the user's Evernote account to be a paid premium/professional account, otherwise it's just an ordinary mouse.

In addition to the basic functions of the mouse, EverMOUSE's main/additional functions are voice typing, voice translation, clipping, and Quickbar.

The first two as a whole can be used outside of Evernote, while the latter two are essentially about Evernote; furthermore, Cut & Hide, Quickbar, and Evernote are closely related, and the output of both is Evernote.

By working with the hardware to simplify complex operations into simple keystrokes, the software experience can be somewhat materialized into a tangible physical reality.

For example, we can use the voice/translation keys to summon Quickbar, and Quickbar's built-in search function allows us to directly select a "word" in the document and search it in our Impressions, while the normal operation requires us to open the Impressions and search in the search box.

What can I do with the extra two keys?

Voice / Translation Keys

The voice/translation key is the one I use most often in my work with it. Its main functions include voice input, voice translation, and calling up Quickbar.

These two features are not strictly tied to Evernote, which means that you can even use the voice input function in other note taking software.

I usually use voice input for note-taking and essay writing, with high speech-to-text recognition rates, making "typing with my mouth" possible.

When a spark of thought occurs, press and hold the function key on the left side of EverMOUSE to dictate the relevant content, and EverMOUSE will automatically recognize it as text and fill in the notes.

Think of it this way, doesn't it greatly increase the productivity of your employees?

Desktop Sticky Notes

In our daily work or life, we often come across situations where someone sends a phone number, address, or other to-do in IM tools or other instant messaging apps and needs to write it down, which I did before with Ctrl+C and then Ctrl+V to todoist.

By using EverMOUSE, you can now quickly pin these pieces of information to your computer's desktop like notes. This way you can check and remind yourself at any time, even if you don't finish, because the information is saved in your Evernote.

Cut and collect anytime, anywhere

Evernote's clipping is one of the most popular features for many people, and I have yet to see any other software of its kind that does it better. However, the downside is that clipping was previously limited to the browser, and sometimes you had to add your own comments to the clipped content, which made it difficult to use.

Evermouse has expanded the scope of Clip & Find, and Clip & Find can be used almost "24/7", and you can even pull up the corresponding notes and "mutter" a summary when you finish clipping.

Is EverMOUSE suitable for employees?

Although EverMOUSE is dependent on a paid Evernote account to function properly, at this time Evernote paid accounts are inexpensive per month and many employees already have them.

For employees who are Evernote users, EverMOUSE is a very worthwhile option to have.

EverMOUSE's intra-notebook search can be used to summon Evernote at any time to look for something; for those who love Evernote's clipping function, EverMOUSE has enhanced this function to become a "24/7 clipping"; for those who like to write with voice, EverMOUSE has greatly improved productivity, and the voice-to-text transcription is not the same. There is no limitation to use within Evernote, and users can use it normally in Word and even in competing products such as Evernote.

All in all, EverMOUSE is really the best choice for New Year's gifts for employees.
