On Dec.8, Apple put on a long-rumored headset for wireless noise reduction on its website, but the name is not previously rumored AirPods Studio, but AirPods Max. Headphones cost $549 and are available in 5 colors.
AirPods Max fuselage is made of a large number of metal materials, with stainless steel frame and anodized aluminum earmuffs. To ensure comfort, the overhead beam uses a light breathable fabric to reduce the pressure. The stainless steel frame is also wrapped in soft-touch material.
A mesh fabric + memory sponge is used to fill the inner part of the earmuffs, which is connected to the earmuffs by magnetic absorption to ensure that the ears are fitted. AirPods Max fuselage does not have a 3.5 mm headset interface, but according to the official introduction, can be connected through the headset Lightning connection function.
There are more outgoing and introverted microphones in AirPods Max than AirPods Pro, six outgoing microphones can detect external environmental noise, and two introverted microphones are used to sense the sound heard in the ear. As for sound quality, Apple says AirPods Max uses a moving-ring drive unit that can achieve a wide dynamic range, a double-ring neodymium magnet motor, and a very low total harmonic distortion throughout the audible range. The adaptive equalization function of the headset will customize the sound effect according to the fitting of the ear pad. Introverted microphones detect what you listen at a frequency of 200 times a second and adjust the sound frequency.
Meanwhile, AirPods Max on both sides of the earmuffs is equipped with H1 chips, which can provide real-time noise reduction and sound effect calculation for headphones, and support seamless switching of audio playback between Mac、iPhone、iPad, and other devices. Using the gyroscope and acceleration sensor in the headset, the "space audio" function can be turned on in conjunction with the iPhone and iPad to obtain a more stereoscopic surround sound experience.
On the control side, the headset consists of two control keys, one is a digital knob similar to the Apple Watch crown, rotating can adjust the volume, the press can pause, cut songs or wake Siri. The other is the noise control button, which switches between noise reduction mode and penetration mode. AirPods Max also supports headset detection, takes off the headset concert automatically suspended, puts on, and continues to play.
AirPods Max active noise reduction and "space audio" can be turned on to provide 20 hours of life, charging through the Lightning interface for 5 minutes can use 1.5 hours. After the headset is placed in the attached smart headset, it will automatically enter the ultra-low energy consumption state to save electricity.
AirPods Max can now open a pre-purchase on the official website and will be available on December 15.
